Emerson has introduced PACEdge 3.0, an upgraded industrial internet of things (IIoT) software platform designed to deploy artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and advanced analytics directly to industrial operations.
The platform aggregates data from various IIoT sources, delivering it to edge applications. According to Emerson, this technology supports AI-driven analytics, machine vision, and visualization tools used throughout the oil and gas sector and other industrial markets.
By utilizing containerized applications, PACEdge 3.0 processes data near the source of operations, enabling real-time insights without a dependency on centralized systems.
“Amidst increasing competition, workforce shortages and the rise of AI, deploying software in the most performant and cost-effective way is a critical enabler of competitive advantage,” said Sean Saul, vice president of product for Emerson’s process systems and solutions business. “The PACEdge 3.0 software platform provides a suite of tools and services to make it easier for teams to deploy or build their own analytics, AI and machine learning applications, dashboards, graphics and data visualizations as close as possible to where work is performed.”
The updated platform features a new group manager, allowing operators to remotely supervise multiple edge devices across an entire facility or enterprise. Through a graphical interface, users can push updated dashboards, security patches, and operating system updates to groups of devices simultaneously.
Additionally, Emerson has deepened integration with its PACEdge application marketplace, offering a centralized hub where users can locate and deploy containerized workloads for edge devices.
These upgrades aim to simplify and accelerate the deployment of industrial edge applications, helping operators maximize the value of their IIoT data.
