DeepOcean has successfully finished the subsea construction and tie-in operations for the Teal West development in the UK North Sea, linking the field to the Anasuria FPSO on behalf of the Anasuria Operating Company.
The project’s scope for DeepOcean involved laying a flexible production riser, a flowline, and an umbilical system to link the FPSO with the Teal West subsea Christmas tree. The firm was also responsible for securing and commissioning the newly deployed infrastructure.
To avoid the risks of diver intervention, the tie-in was carried out entirely through subsea robotics. DeepOcean utilized a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) alongside its proprietary tie-in tool to complete high-pressure flange connections.
Situated in the Central North Sea about 180 km east of Aberdeen, the Teal West field sits in water depths of roughly 90 meters and has been designed as a subsea tieback to the Anasuria FPSO.
The overall field layout features two production wells and a single water injection well. The initial phase connects one production well to the FPSO via roughly 3 km of subsea flowlines.

Project management and engineering for the subsea installation and tie-in were directed by DeepOcean’s office in Aberdeen. The offshore operations were executed in stages, with the initial construction and tie-in phase followed by commissioning work handled by another chartered construction vessel from DeepOcean’s fleet.
According to DeepOcean, the project is now officially onstream, with the new tieback maximizing the utility of the existing Anasuria infrastructure to boost North Sea oil and gas production.
