During the week ending August 7, U.S. refineries processed an average of 17.2 million barrels of crude oil per day, representing a minor decrease of 26,000 barrels per day compared to the prior week’s average. Refineries operated at 96.2% of their total operable capacity.
* **Gasoline Output:** Decreased to an average of 9.6 million barrels per day.
* **Distillate Fuel Output:** Increased to an average of 5.3 million barrels per day.
### Import Trends
U.S. crude oil imports experienced a significant jump, averaging 7.3 million barrels per day—an increase of 1.14 million barrels per day from the previous week. Over the last four weeks, crude imports averaged 6.3 million barrels per day, up 0.1% compared to the same timeframe last year.
* **Gasoline Imports:** Averaged 583,000 barrels per day (including finished gasoline and blending components).
