**Trump Denies Active Talks with Iran, Declares Strait of Hormuz Open**
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that there are currently no ongoing or planned discussions with Iran, while also confirming that the Strait of Hormuz remains open.
In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump stated, “There are no talks or conversations going on, or scheduled, with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Naval Blockade remains in full force and effect. The Hormuz Strait is open and operating. All water mines have been removed or detonated.”
This statement stands in contrast to remarks from Iran’s chief negotiator, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf. Published by state media on Tuesday, Qalibaf informed parliament that the strategic waterway would remain closed until the United States complies with the terms of an interim agreement reached in June.
According to Qalibaf, these requirements include the lifting of the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports, the removal of oil sanctions, the release of frozen Iranian assets, and the cessation of all U.S. military operations and threats.
