Woodside Energy’s third-quarter report, released on Oct. 20, highlights a 12% quarterly increase in output, reaching 46.2 MMboe (503,000 boed). The company remains on track to meet its full-year guidance of 174–181 MMboe, driven by key milestone completions across its global asset portfolio.
**Scarborough and Pluto Train 2**
Located offshore Western Australia, the Scarborough and Pluto Train 2 developments reached 99% completion on budget by the end of the quarter. Start-up activities for the subsea system and floating production unit (FPU) progressed, featuring well clean-ups and gas exports to pressurize the trunkline—with clean-up results matching reservoir performance forecasts. Following the quarter’s end, Scarborough gas was introduced to Pluto Train 2’s pre-treatment warm end after all compressor mechanical runs were finalized. Work continues on the cold end ahead of liquefaction, while modifications to Pluto Train 1 progressed following the arrival of its final module. First LNG cargo remains scheduled for Q4.
**Trion**
In the Gulf of Mexico, the Trion project reached 71% completion on budget. Teams have drilled 10 of 24 planned wells and set the first subsea tree. Subsea hardware and the disconnectable turret mooring buoy arrived in Mexico, initiating offshore installation. Fabrication of the FPU stands at 96%, maintaining a target for first oil in 2028.
**Bass Strait**
Following the transfer of operatorship from ExxonMobil on July 1, Woodside achieved 91% reliability during asset integration. Drilling ended for all five Turrum Phase 3 development wells, with first production anticipated in the first half of 2027. Four additional potential wells are undergoing evaluation, subject to technical reviews and federal domestic gas reservation rules.
**Additional Offshore Operations**
* **U.S. Gulf of Mexico:** Atlantis brought its first of two water injectors online under the Major Facility Expansion project, while Shenzi concluded a three-well intervention campaign in August.
* **Australia & Senegal:** The Okha FPSO resumed production following subsea mooring repairs and reconnection. Post-quarter, the Pyrenees FPSO disconnected for scheduled Q4 shipyard maintenance. Senegal’s offshore Sangomar field delivered a gross average of 94,000 bbl/d.
**Exploration and Joint Ventures**
The Sunrise joint venture, alongside Australian and Timor-Leste authorities, aligned on core principles for a revised Greater Sunrise production sharing contract (PSC) and fiscal model, extending current PSCs through March 31, 2027. In Egypt, drilling operations remain underway at the Eni-operated Nasim-1X well within the Tiba license, where Woodside maintains a 40% stake.
