(WO) — A recent report by ADIPEC reveals that 85% of surveyed energy executives view the sector as more appealing to investors today than it was five years ago, signaling heightened market confidence despite recent international instability.

The ADIPEC Global Energy Report 2026: Power Shift surveyed over 1,800 senior executives across technology, finance, manufacturing, and energy—including 304 oil and gas executives. A majority of participants (64%) noted that the global energy market demonstrated greater resilience than anticipated during recent crises, and 77% remain optimistic about the industry’s trajectory over the coming ten years.
The Middle East’s influence in the global market is projected to expand significantly. Approximately 72% of survey participants believe the region will increase its global energy prominence over the next decade, with 74% predicting a larger footprint in energy infrastructure. These insights emphasize the region’s key position as nations and corporations adapt to evolving demand trends, strategic investments, and security priorities.
Emerging technology, particularly artificial intelligence, is strongly influencing industry projections. Over 80% of executives anticipate that AI-driven power consumption will outpace existing forecasts, with 71% classifying AI primarily as a growth opportunity rather than a threat. Furthermore, 43% predict that technology and AI firms will exert the greatest sway over the industry’s future, highlighting the deep integration between digital systems and power utilities.
Additionally, the study underscores the necessity of an all-of-the-above energy strategy. An overwhelming 93% of respondents agreed that satisfying future power needs depends on expanding a broad array of energy sources. This reinforces the ongoing need for capital allocation across power generation, primary energy production, and distribution networks to match rising demand and changing usage habits.
The study synthesizes data from executive surveys across 10 major global markets alongside qualitative expert interviews, capturing industry sentiment regarding future market dynamics rather than tracking concrete financial deployments.
