The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has released its weekly natural gas storage report, revealing a net injection of 28 billion cubic feet (Bcf) for the week ending July 24, 2026.

This weekly gain brings the total working gas in storage to 3,084 Bcf. While current stock levels are 32 Bcf lower than the same period last year, they remain 185 Bcf above the five-year historical average of 2,899 Bcf. Total inventories currently sit well within the five-year historical range.

#### Regional Breakdown and Storage Overview

The net increase of 28 Bcf was driven primarily by gains in the Eastern and Midwestern regions, offset by minor drawdowns in the West and South Central regions:

* **East:** Increased by 23 Bcf to 654 Bcf (0.8% higher than last year, 3.6% above the 5-year average).
* **Midwest:** Increased by 23 Bcf to 789 Bcf (3.5% higher than last year, 6.6% above the 5-year average).
* **Mountain:** Decreased by 2 Bcf to 238 Bcf (1.7% lower than last year, 17.2% above the 5-year average).
* **Pacific:** Decreased by 7 Bcf to 307 Bcf (2.0% higher than last year, 16.3% above the 5-year average).
* **South Central:** Decreased overall by 9 Bcf to 1,096 Bcf (5.7% lower than last year, 3.1% above the 5-year average).
* *Salt facilities* saw a 14 Bcf decrease to 303 Bcf.
