NG Energy International has successfully connected and brought online its Aruchara-6 well, located in Colombia’s Maria Conchita block. The well reached a total depth of 9,352 feet, successfully targeting the H1 zone while also encountering gas across the H2 through H6 formations. During initial testing at the field’s central processing facility (CPF), the well achieved peak flow rates of 8.7 MMcfd gross (6.96 MMcfd net) utilizing a 30/64 choke, maintaining an average tubing head pressure of 780 psi.
Chief Executive Officer Jorge Fonseca confirmed that following the favorable test results, Aruchara-6 is fully integrated into the primary processing facility and actively contributing to total output.
The addition of Aruchara-6 is projected to boost production at Maria Conchita from 16.0 MMcfd gross (12.8 MMcfd net) to 23.0 MMcfd gross (18.4 MMcfd net). As a result, NG Energy’s overall net output from both the Maria Conchita and Sinú-9 fields will reach approximately 29.1 MMcfd, based on the company’s 80% net working interest. While 15.0 MMcfd of production is committed to existing contracts, surplus gas is being traded on the local spot market for prices typically ranging between $14 and $16 per Mcf, with certain volumes capturing rates above $20 per Mcf.
To accommodate total site output approaching the CPF’s current 30-MMcfd limits, infrastructure developer GTX International is scheduled to finish plant enhancements by late October. Upgrades include adding a new compressor alongside enhancements to dehydration, cooling, and heat exchanger systems.
Concurrently at the Sinú-9 block, operator Maurel & Prom Colombia initiated drilling on the Encantado-1X well on October 6. This exploration well aims to establish the reservoir’s southern boundaries, adjust block-wide depth calibrations, evaluate a higher-pressure zone, verify gas presence in the Pre-CDO layer, and determine liquid resource potential. The operating group intends to spud at least one additional well at Sinú-9 before year-end. Additionally, INFRAES completed and commissioned a pipeline loop extension from the Jobo connection, elevating Sinú-9’s total gross transit capacity from 30 MMcfd to a range of 40 to 45 MMcfd (representing 15.6 to 17.6 MMcfd net to NG Energy).
