BOURBON’s New IMR Vessel Commences Offshore Operations Under Indian Contract

BOURBON has commissioned its new subsea support vessel, the Bourbon Evolution 810, under a long-term contract offshore India. The inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) vessel expands the company’s deepwater fleet and is designed to operate in water depths reaching 3,000 meters.
The vessel’s deployment comes during a period of limited newbuild activity and an aging global IMR fleet. To support complex offshore projects, the Evolution 810 is equipped with a DP3 dynamic positioning system, optimized propulsion and power management systems, and specialized capabilities for ROV operations, subsea surveys, and construction support. It also features two active heave-compensated cranes with lifting capacities of 150 tonnes and 40 tonnes to manage heavy subsea structures in rough sea states.
“The entry into service of Bourbon Evolution 810 enables us to provide customers with an IMR vessel capable of meeting the technical challenges of deepwater operations,” said Stephan Midenet, Chief Operating Officer of BOURBON. “This new vessel also reflects our commitment to continuously modernizing our fleet to meet evolving market requirements.”
The vessel provides 1,200 square meters of deck space and accommodations for up to 105 personnel. In addition to deepwater IMR campaigns, the vessel is configured to support diving operations, firefighting, and oil spill response. Its initial campaign in India strengthens BOURBON’s presence in the offshore sector as operators increase investments in deepwater asset integrity and maintenance.
