The latest Baker Hughes Rig Count reveals a rise in drilling activity across North America. The United States added 1 rig, bringing its overall count to 588, while Canada saw a significant increase of 15 rigs, raising its total to 219.
### Regional Activity and Basin Variances
Activity fluctuated across several major basins. Growth was driven by three key regions: the Eagle Ford, Marcellus, and Permian basins. Conversely, two basins reported a decline:
* **Eagle Ford:** Up 2 rigs to 49
* **Permian:** Up 2 rigs to 260
