During its most recent open meeting, the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) imposed over $3.1 million in penalties on various operators and companies.

In total, commissioners levied $3,129,400 in fines across several enforcement cases. The RRC serves as the primary regulatory authority for the Texas oil and gas sector, in addition to overseeing intrastate pipeline safety.
Of this sum, roughly $2.11 million was issued via Master Agreed Orders for operators who agreed to bring their activities into compliance with state regulations.
The remaining $1.02 million was issued through Master Default Orders targeting operators who did not attend their scheduled enforcement hearings.
According to the RRC, these rulings will be finalized unless formal requests for a rehearing are submitted in a timely manner.
