At the conclusion of a nationwide IPO roadshow in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Aliko Dangote announced that the public offering for his refinery will prioritize everyday investors. According to an official statement, the Dangote Group plans to give preference to subscriptions of N50,000 or lower.
Addressing investors, financial market experts, and business leaders, Africa’s wealthiest businessman reaffirmed that the primary goal of going public is to give low- and middle-income Africans direct equity in the $20 billion facility. Although international investors have already committed significant capital, the IPO is explicitly designed to empower local citizens. Dangote encouraged Nigerians to view the offering as a long-term strategy for wealth creation and portfolio diversification, framing it as an opportunity to share in a project that generates local jobs and long-term economic value.
