### About Beth McDonald
Ms. McDonald joined SM Energy as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in September 2024, advancing to President in September 2025, and assuming the role of President, CEO, and Board Member in January 2026. Under her leadership, SM Energy executed a transformative merger with Civitas Resources, significantly scaling the company’s footprint across high-return U.S. shale basins.

With over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, Ms. McDonald previously served as Executive Vice President of Strategic Planning, Field Development, and Marketing at Pioneer Natural Resources, where she spent nearly two decades in leadership roles focused on the Permian Basin and South Texas. Her earlier career includes engineering positions at Hess Corporation and Total E&P USA.

She serves as an Industry Board Member for the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University—where she earned her BS in Petroleum Engineering—and is a member of the Advanced Women Executives in Energy. She is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas.
