The Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) has finished the initial development phase of the Hadiba gas and condensate field in the UAE, putting the company on track to more than double its present gas output to meet Sharjah’s long-term energy needs.
Located northeast of the Sajaa field, Hadiba was discovered in May 2024 and achieved first gas production in under a year due to a fast-tracked appraisal and development strategy. This opening phase involved drilling appraisal wells, testing reservoir data, setting up gathering infrastructure, laying pipelines, and commissioning operational facilities.
SNOC is now shifting focus to the second phase, targeting a production surge in 2027 and expecting the field to achieve stable output levels by 2028.
Khamis Al Mazrouei, CEO of SNOC, highlighted that the project underscores the firm’s capacity to quickly bring discoveries online while reinforcing regional energy security. Masoud Al Hamadi, Executive Director of Upstream, noted that the phase was successfully delivered despite global supply chain and shipping hurdles. He added that favorable reservoir quality, pressure metrics, and flow rates confirm the field’s strong commercial viability.
The Hadiba project remains a cornerstone of SNOC’s overarching strategy to scale up domestic gas production across the emirate.
